- Dialing 958 on a telephone line will tell you the telephone
number associated with that circuit.
- To determine which carrier is providing the long distance
service on any telephone dial: 1-700-555-4141.
- To reduce employee calling card expense, make sure traveling
staff can call back to the office on a separate toll free
number answered by an automated attendant.
- Everyone now has to select a local carrier, a long distance
carrier and a local toll carrier. Local toll is that narrow
band of calls that are not truly local and not quite intrastate.
Its also the only traffic that can be carried by either
your local or long distance carrier or even a third carrier.
Compare pricing, it can pay off!
- Before investing in a Frame Relay network, investigate
a Virtual Private Network on the Internet or an IP network,
with some flavor of DSL service connecting the remote locations
to the IP point of presence. The flexibility and ultimate
cost savings can be dramatic in some instances. However,
firewall management in multiple locations can be a challenge.
